Coulter Creek Heritage Park Forest Stewardship Plan
Forest Stewardship Planning is well underway for Coulter Creek Heritage Park. This is a 1200 acre park west of Port Orchard bordered by SW Lake Flora Road and Sunnyslope Road SW. This plan includes an assessment of the tree data that was collected and provides science-based recommendations for the ecological restoration of this forested park.
The goals are to enhance forest tree health, promote greater plant diversity and improve wildlife habitat. Everyone is encouraged to read the draft plan and provide comments via email to Arno Bergstrom, Kitsap County Community Forester at Abergstr@co.kitsap.wa.us.

Support Kitsap County ParksOver the last ten years, the amount of land managed by the Kitsap County Parks Department will have nearly doubled to over 10,000 acres by the end of 2017. To keep pace with the growth, the department relies on the dedication of 1,600 volunteers, annually, actively managing park resources. To support these efforts, there is a need to seek additional monetary support for trail construction, park amenities and improvements. The Kitsap County Parks Foundation provides an opportunity for those interested in donating money towards the betterment of the County parks. Donations, either general or project specific, will help improve the quality of your parks and enhance visitor experiences. Thank you for considering a donation to the Kitsap County Parks Foundation. If you wish to support the parks in other ways please visit the volunteer link to see what opportunities may be available.
