2021 Physical Inspections of Real Property in the Bremerton Area

Appraisers from the Kitsap County Assessor’s Office are now conducting on-site inspections throughout the Bremerton area.  Washington State Law (RCW 84.40.025) requires inspections of all real property throughout the county at least once every six years.  The current inspections should be completed by April 2021.

Appraisers from the Kitsap County Assessor’s Office will be following social distancing protocols to ensure the safety of the public and staff.  Appraisers will attempt to stay in their vehicles while making onsite inspections and we have discouraged appraisers from making contact with the property occupant. If you need to approach an appraiser we ask that you please maintain at least six feet of physical distance.

The Kitsap County Assessor’s Office currently remains closed to the general public; however staff is still available to provide services. Go to our online services page for information about how to get services from the Assessor's Office.

You can contact our office by email at assessor@co.kitsap.wa.us or by leaving us a message at 360.337.7160 and we will return your call during business hours.

The primary role of the Assessor's Office is to establish an assessed valuation of all real and personal property for tax purposes.  The Assessor is required by law to assess all taxable property at 100% of market value.  These values are used to calculate and set levy rates for the various taxing districts in the county, and to equitably distribute tax responsibility among taxpayers.

The Assessor's office appraises property both by physical inspection and by market activity. Washington State Law mandates that property must be physically inspected at least once every six years, with annual review and update based on sales analysis.
