EVICTION RESOURCES

With many landlords and tenants affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Kitsap County is expecting large number of eviction case filings after State and Federal moratoria on evictions are lifted.  To address this, the Kitsap County Superior Court, in partnership with Kitsap Legal Services, the Dispute Resolution of Kitsap County, the Northwest Justice Project, and Kitsap Community Resources, has established an Eviction Resolution Pilot Program (ERPP) that will require problem-solving steps before eviction cases may be filed in court.

The program was implemented by Standing Order on August 18, 2021 (amended April 5, 2022).  The goal of the program is to bring all parties together with trained resolution specialists to explore solutions such as available State and local rental assistance, or achievable payment plans that could help tenants retain their housing and divert many situations from the legal eviction process.

In addition to local resources on this page, landlords and tenants may find more general information about the eviction resolution program, and how they can participate, on the statewide website dedicated to the program: Washington Courts Eviction Resolution Pilot Program.
