Holiday Hours

Closed New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and at 2 p.m. Christmas Eve

Weather or other conditions may affect facility hours and operations. Call (360)674-7065 for news on hour changes. When a closure happens suddenly, staff or signage will inform customers upon arrival. The inclement weather/emergency page is updated with closures as soon as possible.


Payment and Services

Accepts garbage, recycling and limited household hazardous waste. Waste must be unloaded by hand - no tipping from dump trucks or trailers.

Payment
Visa/MasterCard, cash or check accepted. Make checks payable to "KCPW" and have valid ID. Write drivers license number and phone number on check.

Disposal fees are based on size and volume, not weight.

​Large household appliances

Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, water coolers, washers, dryers, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, water heaters, trash compactors, heat pumps. Must be empty. No commercial appliances.

​Unsecured/uncovered load fee

​$10 per load

​​Solid Waste Tax (3.6%) added to solid waste disposal transactions. No tax on recycled wastes.

 Recycle

Recyclables must be empty, clean, dry, and loose. No bagged items, plastic bags and wrap, Styrofoam, or shredded paper.

The following items are collected at no charge:

  • Plastic bottles, jugs, jars, and dairy tubs - no lids

  • Cardboard - flat

  • Paper - mail, magazines and catalogs, newspaper, office paper, phone books, paperboard boxes, etc.

  • Metal cans - no loose lids

  • Glass bottles and jars - no lids

  • Clothing - dry

 Household Hazardous Waste

Accepted for no charge from residents. Business waste not accepted.

Antifreeze from personal vehicles

​5 gallon limit per day. Put empty containers in the garbage.

​Motor oil from personal vehicles

​​5 gallon limit per day. Put emptycontainers in the garbage.

Batteries

​Small household batteries (alkaline, button, rechargeable) 

Vehicle batteries less than 50 lbs.

Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and tubes

​Limit 10 CFLs or tubes per day, per person

Needles/sharps

Limit three containers per day. Follow packaging instructions carefully. Incorrect containers are refused.

  • No kids under 12 or pets out of vehicles

  • No scavenging of waste or recyclables   

  • Facility has stairs leading to recycling containers and appliance area.
