Every home can set up curbside garbage and recycling collection. Recycling collection is automatically included with garbage service. Contact the service provider in your area for complete details and to set up services.

​What Can be Recycled?

Recyclables must be empty, clean, and dry. No plastic bags. No shredded paper. Metal cans, paper, food boxes, corrugated cardboard (flatten), glass bottles and jars, and some plastics (bottles, jugs, jars, and dairy tubs only). ​View curbside recycling guide.

​Extra Recyclables

Unincorporated County:  Regularly have extra recyclables that don't fit in the cart?Add a second cart for $1.40 per month. For occasional extra recyclables, secure them in a container labeled "Recycle" and set it next to your recycling cart. Make sure recyclables can't blow away or get wet.

Compost (yard waste and food scraps)

Most homes in Kitsap County can set up curbside compost collection for yard waste and food scraps. View the to see if your home can receive compost collection. Contact the service provider in your area for complete details and to set up services.

​Extra Yard Waste

Unincorporated County: ​There is a charge for extra yard trimmings left at the curb. For $5.60, add a second 96-gallon cart to your service. For $2.60 each, use a rigid, labeled 32-gallon can with handles; heavy paper yard bags; or bundles (4x2x2 ft limit).
