FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Recording fees to see two increases in July

PORT ORCHARD – The first of two recording fee increases goes into effect on July 1.
The 2019 Legislature approved a $2.50 surcharge to some recording fees to fund grants that will go to counties and cities planning within the standards of the state’s Growth Management Planning and Environmental Review Fund.
Fees that will increase include standard recording instruments, and each additional transaction, deeds of trust and maps.
The full list of fees is available online (PDF, 1 page, 17.4 KB).
In the last week in July, most fees will increase by another $2.00 to fund construction of the Washington State Library-Archives building. The later increase comes from a separate piece of legislation. The new rates will be posted online before the fees take effect.
