Candidate Filing Week 2018 Begins Monday

PORT ORCHARD – Kitsap County residents running for political office may begin filing Monday, May 14. Candidates may file in person, by email, or fax beginning at 8 a.m., Monday through 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 18. Candidates may file online beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday through 4 p.m. Friday.

Candidates in the following races file with the Washington Secretary of State:

  • U.S. House of Representatives, Congressional District 6
  • State Legislative District 26 and 35, Senators and Representatives
  • Washington Supreme Court Justice Positions 2, 8, and 9
  • Washington Court of Appeals, Division 2, District 2, Judge Position 2
     
    Candidates for these offices file with the Kitsap County Auditor's Office – Elections Division

  • State Legislative District 23
  • Kitsap County Commissioner District 3, Assessor, Auditor, Clerk, Coroner, Prosecuting Attorney, Sheriff, and Treasurer
  • Kitsap County District Court Judge, Departments 1, 2, 3, and 4
  • Kitsap County Public Utility District, Commissioner District 3
  • Precinct Committee Officers

    The deadline to withdraw a candidate filing is 4:30 p.m., Monday, May 21. Candidates who do not withdraw on time will appear on the August Primary ballot and could appear on the General Election ballot in November.

    All filing fees or petitions must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 18. Filing fees are non-refundable.
