Kitsap County Arts Board
The Kitsap County Arts Board has opted to go on a temporary hiatus until Capital Projects within the County pick up,
specifically within the Real Estate Excise Tax (REET) fund. This is anticipated through 2020.
Who
We Are
The Kitsap County Arts Board was formed by the Board of
County Commissioners on August 20th, 2001 when the Arts Board Ordinance was
adopted. The board was established to administer the 1% for Art Program. The Arts
Board consists of nine citizen volunteers, three from each of the three
districts. They are appointed by the Commissioner of the district they reside in
and represent.
Our
Mission
The Arts Board's mission is to promote excellence, access,
education and diversity in the arts, in order to improve the quality of life for
all Kitsap residents.
Promoting Arts and Economic
Vitality
The Arts Board promotes and encourages private and public
programs to further the development and public interest in arts and culture.
Their programs seek to increase employment opportunities in the arts and to
encourage the integration of art into County properties contributing to the
economic vitality of our community at large.

Kitsap County has submitted an Ordinance change for the 1% for Art Program. The agenda has been placed on the 7/22/19 agenda for approval.
