WSU Extension's Regional Small Farms Program is hosting a class titled “Winterize Your Poultry Flock.” This class is for anyone raising egg-laying chickens in their backyard or farm. This class is sponsored by Scratch and Peck Feeds.
The class is happening on Tuesday November 27, 2018 – from 5:30-7:30pm in the council chambers at the Norm Dicks Building, 345 6th St., Bremerton, WA. All are welcome to attend.
Lisa Van Horn of Peninsula Poultry Breeders Network and WillowCroft Farm will be teaching participants the best practices and tips for keeping chickens during the winter months in the Pacific Northwest. Topics include winter housing needs, winter nutrition and health, parasite control, winter laying and egg production, what to do if your birds stop laying, thinking towards Spring and adding chicks into your flock, and so much more.
