Description

Have you ever wanted to know about restoration thinning and how the process works? Join the Banner Forest Stewardship Group as they walk the Coulter Creek Heritage Park with the County Forester and learn how trees are selected for keeping and for thinning, all with an eye to improving the health and longevity of our heritage forest properties.

How to get there:
If you approach the park from the East using the Sedgwick Exit off Hwy 16, you will travel west on Glenwood Rd. Don’t turn south on Glenwood Rd, keep heading west onto SW Lake Flora Rd. In 2.5 miles you will come to the Roundabout with Dickenson Rd. Make the first right off the roundabout staying on Lake Flora Rd. In a few hundred feet, turn right onto Sunny Slope Road. Follow Sunnyslope Rd north for approximately ¾ of a mile and watch for a sign that indicates the Little Airport entrance to Coulter Creek Heritage Park. Make a left turn into the park. Use caution when turning into the park gate (yellow) entrance as traffic on Sunnyslope Rd can quickly approach.

If you are approaching the park from the north via Hwy 3, take the Sunnyslope exit off the hwy. heading south. Travel approximately one mile, watch for the sign at the intersection with Old Clifton Road and turn right, staying on Sunnyslope Road. Travel south another 1.75 miles and the entrance to the Little Airport will be on the right. You are getting close to the gate entrance when you pass the Bonneville Power Admin. Transmission line right-of-way.
